Trust is the foundation to all healthy relationships. However, this is not easy to achieve. Trust often takes a long time to develop and can be lost in the blink of an eye. When this occurs, it may be even more difficult to rebuild. In this two-part series, participants will explore trust from two perspectives. The first will be self trust. That is, what it is and how to develop it. Stephen Covey's book, The Speed of Trust, will be the foundation. In part two, the focus will be relationship trust. Covey's work will again be referenced in addition to Marshall B. Rosenberg's work on Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Participants will practice practical steps, using the NVC model, to build trust by first identifying their feelings and needs and those of others, so they can communicate in an empathetic and authentic way.
This is a two-part cohort class. Participants must attend both sessions to receive credit.
