Dispel the Stigma: Be an Advocate for Mental Health

Caring for one’s mental health is a fundamental component of well-being. When mental health ailments develop, it can be difficult to know what to do. In this webinar, participants learn how to become a mental health advocate by promoting positive mental health and identifying mental health symptoms, misconceptions, and stigmas. Finding Happiness by Increasing Your Emotional Well-Being  

Emotional well-being can play a significant role in overall happiness. Participants learn how to stay positive, reduce negative thought, and assess their emotional well-being. The webinar also covers the benefits of gratitude and the importance of knowing how to focus on what one can control and when to let go. Watch this recording on demand.

COVID-19: Facts You Need to Know

Authored and presented by Dr. Ellen Contente, the webinar includes the most recent information available from the Centers from Disease Control and the World Health Organization as well as addresses coping mechanisms for stress and anxiety reactions related to an event such as this.

Coping with Uncertainty

Participants learn coping strategies to reduce stress associated with fear and trauma and to develop resiliency skills for the future. Presented by Lora Shor, MSW, LCSW, BCD, the webinar gives attention to trauma responses of fear, anger, and grief to help participants identify and understand their emotional and behavioral reactions to recent world events, including the coronavirus pandemic, and previous incidents of trauma. While this presentation primarily focuses on adult experiences, it also addresses how children react to fear and trauma and how caregivers can best assist them.
