Vice President for Human Resources' Message Regarding Summer Hours & Holidays

April 28, 2021

On April 28, Vice President for Human Resources Lianne Sullivan-Crowley emailed all staff with an update about summer hours and holidays.

With all the challenges and adjustments to Princeton work life and locations over this past year, staff members currently working regular hours can look forward to a traditional summer schedule again. As is customary, summer hours will begin immediately following Commencement. Beginning Monday, May 17, normal business hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 45-minute lunch break. Due to the change in the academic calendar, the normal schedule will resume on August 30.

Offices that schedule more than one work shift or have other work requirements may need to maintain a different work schedule.

The University’s three-year holiday schedule is available on the HR website. For policy information about University holidays, including pay practices, refer to policies 3.1.6 Holidays and 6.1.1 Overtime Pay.

We ask that staff remain mindful of Princeton’s diverse workforce and inclusive culture, and respectfully take the dates of religious holidays into consideration when planning any workplace meetings or events. Refer to the Office of Religious Life website for information about religious holidays. For policy information regarding time off for religious observances, refer to policy 3.2.4 Leave for Religious Observances.
