As states implement changes to their laws concerning abortions, the coverage in our medical plans must change to follow the laws of each state. This may impose inequity of access to care on a portion of our members. The following benefit mitigates this impact.
Effective immediately, all Princeton medical plans will provide a travel and lodging benefit up to $100 per day, for the patient and a family member or support person, to access any needed care, including reproductive health care, when it is unavailable in-network within 100 miles of the patient’s home. This benefit is limited to $10,000 per year. To apply for this benefit, contact your insurance carrier Aetna or UnitedHealthcare.
