On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Vice President for Human Resources Romy Riddick emailed all staff the following:
The University is seeking nominations for four staff representatives on the Council of the Princeton University Community (CPUC). Since 1969, the CPUC has played a unique role in Princeton’s governance by bringing together faculty, staff, students, and alumni to consider a wide range of matters of concern to our community—from specific policy questions to general issues bearing on the welfare of the University.
Each year, the Office of Human Resources administers the processes for electing and appointing staff representatives to the CPUC from each of the following staff groups to serve one-year terms:
- Administrative staff
- Office support staff
- Biweekly-paid library, research, and technical staff
- Biweekly-paid maintenance and service staff
I warmly encourage all staff with an interest in University governance and a desire to contribute to Princeton’s well-being at an institution-wide level to nominate themselves or an interested colleague. To do so, please complete this nomination webform, which should include a brief statement of support from the nominee’s manager. The deadline to submit a nomination is June 14, 2024.
The CPUC is chaired by Princeton University President Christopher L. Eisgruber and meets regularly during the academic year. The dates for 2024-25 have not been set yet, but historically it has met three times in the fall semester and three times in the spring, usually on a Monday between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m.
If you have questions about the election process, please contact Anita Fresolone at 258-8862 or visit the HR website.
For more information about the CPUC, feel free to contact its secretary, Christine Gage, or visit the CPUC website.
Thank you for considering this invitation to lend your voice to Princeton’s governance process.
