What You Need to Know This Month

It's National Wellness Month

Celebrated every August, this month focuses on self-care, managing stress, and promoting healthy routines.

Practicing self-care is much more than healthy eating and exercising. It is about setting goals and boundaries, practicing gratitude, and scheduling time for yourself to relax and do something you enjoy. These practices can have a huge impact on your overall health and well-being by increasing your energy, reducing stress levels, and helping you meet the demands of daily life. Give yourself permission to be kind to yourself!

Developing healthy sleep habits are essential for good health. Research shows the average adult benefits from getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night. If you wake up without feeling rested, or feel tired during the day, talk to your doctor to rule out health conditions that may be interfering with your sleep. Nutrition, exercise, and boosting your immune system can also play an important role in falling and staying asleep. Engage with a health coach through the My Health Coach program for tips on establishing a healthy bedtime routine.

Health Advocate can help take the hassle out of healthcare for you by:

  • Resolving billing and claim issues that are keeping you up at night
  • Explaining benefits coverage or health conditions to ease worry
  • Scheduling tests, making doctor appointments, and even coordinating care during or after a hospital stay to reduce stress
  • Finding the best in-network providers and hospitals

This confidential benefit is available to benefits-eligible employees and their family members. To get started, call Health Advocate at (866) 695-8622 or visit Health Advocate.
