What You Need to Know This Month
How to Work with Teladoc
If you and/or your eligible dependents are not feeling well, Teladoc is a virtual, convenient, and low-cost option for medical care, and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Keep in mind, if you are away on vacation, Teladoc is available anywhere in the United States. Teladoc is available for those enrolled in a Princeton Medical Plan. If you are enrolled in a plan outside of Princeton, call the number on your medical card for assistance.
Teladoc virtual visits include:
- General telemedicine – Speak with a doctor anytime day or night who can diagnose, recommend treatment, and prescribe medication for many medical issues including sinus infections, flu, respiratory infections, ear infections, and more. Visits are covered at 100% for all Princeton medical plans.
- Mental Health – Participants aged 18 and older can talk with licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, and counselors who can provide both therapy and medication management for mental health needs such as anxiety, depression, and substance use. For those enrolled in the Aetna HMO Plan, visits are covered at $10. For all other plans, visits are covered at the same cost as in-network, in-person mental health visits.
- Dermatology – Board certified dermatologists will diagnose skin issues and treat common conditions like acne, psoriasis, eczema, rashes, skin infections, and more; visits are covered at the same cost as in-network, in-person specialist visits.
It is a good idea to register on the Teladoc website in advance so it’s set up in your time of need. Teladoc can be reached at (855) 835-2362.
Hinge Health Testimonial
“When I received a flyer in the mail from Hinge Health, a new benefit from Princeton, I set it aside without a second thought. However, after attending the Open Enrollment Benefits Fair in the fall, I was intrigued to give it a try for my shoulder pain. Signing up online was very easy and within a few days resistance bands, a yoga mat, and a tablet arrived. I was assigned a coach, who has helped keep me motivated, and a physical therapist, who provides modified or new activities whenever I need them. After seven months, I have seen a significant reduction in my shoulder pain and I’m so grateful to have this as a benefit. I highly recommend giving Hinge Health a try if you are dealing with chronic pain.”
