Some life events can be overwhelming, e.g., struggling with infertility or being diagnosed with diabetes, heart disease, cancer, or another serious illness. Individuals may feel worried, depressed, or angry. AbleTo provides virtual therapy and emotional support to assist with the stress and anxiety that comes with a medical condition or life change.
AbleTo can help the individual gain control of the condition instead of it controlling the individual, work through emotions, understand and stick with the treatment plan, and understand the types of changes one needs to make. Participants work with two AbleTo specialists for eight weeks — once a week with a therapist to address emotional challenges, like depression, stress, and anxiety, and once a week with a behavior coach to identify health goals and develop an action plan.
Participants can meet face to face with the team using online video or talk over the phone. Appointments are available in the evening and on weekends.
To access AbleTo, Aetna members can call (855) 773-2354. United Healthcare members can call AbleTo at (833) 881-1468. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
