Health Advocate can help with a range of elder care tasks and provide helpful information. Health Advocate can assist with elder care by:
- Making doctor appointments for an employee's loved one.
- Explaining a diagnose or medication instructions.
- Providing a list of elder care facilities, finding in-home care options, and hospice options.
- Helping with Medicare enrollment, understand insurance coverage, and reconcile medical claims.

The Employee Assistance Program, offered through Carebridge, is available to help employees and their eligible dependents cope with everyday life challenges. Carebridge can assist with elder care by:
- Navigating difficult conversations with your aging parent(s).
- Finding elder care facilities, local programs, and support services.
- Explaining financial planning needs, Power of Attorney (POA), and living wills.
- Finding a counselor who can listen to your concerns and provide you with tips to help manage stress.

When you need to be at work, Bright Horizons can provide elder care for your parents or spouse when they need a little extra help, and cannot be left alone. Princeton subsidizes the cost of this benefit, so the benefit is taxable. Caregivers are not permitted to provide medical or custodial care.
Employees may access the back-up care benefit at any time and must register on the Bright Horizons' website to schedule care or call Bright Horizons at (877) 242-2737. The user name is Princeton and the password is care4you.
Princeton provides up to five arranging for care days to employees with five years of benefits-eligible service for aging spouse, parents or in-laws(s) for researching, interviewing, touring nursing homes, care facilities, home care services, and assisted living facilities.
Princeton provides paid family leave at 100% base pay, up to, two weeks to care for a family member who has a serious health condition.
The University provides a family and medical leave of absence for up to 12 weeks in any 12-month period under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and a 24-month period under the New Jersey Family Leave Act (NJFLA) to any eligible regular, full-time or part-time employee. The University guarantees that at the end of an approved leave, the employee can return to the same position, or to one that is equivalent in rank, salary and benefits, and other terms and conditions of employment. Depending on the circumstances, the leave may be paid, unpaid, or a combination of paid and unpaid, and, where applicable, is charged concurrently under the appropriate disability leave program.
